Using Strengths Instead of Adapting for Weaknesses
Here's a quick blurb about a company which trained individuals with an autism spectrum disorder to work in computer programming. What I like most about this story is how they are working with the individuals' strengthens. Too often, I hear stories about how a company went "above and beyond" to accommodate an individual's disability... While that is a good thing, why not focus on strengths instead. Find out the strength and determine a job placement from there. Less adapting, more productivity, everyone is happy.
